2010 Run Under the Lights Review - OTCMasters.orgPublished by
2010 Run Under the Lights - By Dave Wilkins Over 40 runners showed up for this last run before the end of Daylight Savings Time - No registration, no official results, verbal time called at the end of the 3 mile, 3 loop event. Some 40 runners took advantage of the good - rainless and windless - weather to participate. Eugene Running Company's Thursday eveing speed group, coached by Anna Heintz, came out in force for the run. For many runners, the lights came on during their second loop. Josh Gordon was first across the line with a 17:13 finish if my memory serves me correctly. The course follows the lights, but the lights take an earlier turn than the standard 1 mile loop does. Kathy Gibbs pointed people in the right direction at the top of the loop while Jim Barta kept them from taking the first turn to a lighted loop. Current belief is that the run under the Lights served to commemorate the club's contribution that created the lighted path, certainly a welcome addition with the return of standard time. |
