Masters runners age 40 and up (runners over age 80 have competed in the past!) are invited to race in masters only events the the Pepsi Invitational and Oregon Twilight Meets.  This is an excellent chance to race in front of a crowd at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.  The masters only races typically occur near the beginning of these meets, which also feature top college and elite competitors in other events.

As of 3/26/15 the races are full.  However, we are still taking alternates for those events as runners often need to cancel due to injury or other conflicts.  You are encouraged to enter to be put on the alternate list for any spots that may open up.

NOTE THAT THESE RACES ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE HAYWARD CLASSIC!  The Hayward Classic is a masters only track meet, which has space in all events.  See www.HaywardClassic.org

Pepsi Invitational Masters Exibition Races Preliminary Entry List

Pepsi Invitational - Saturday, April 11th, 2015
Masters Mile - Tentative start time 2:10 PM
Masters 100m - Tentative start time 2:23 PM

Oregon Twilight - Friday, May 8th, 2015
Masters 3,000m - Tentative start time 3:00 PM
Masters 400m - Tentative start time 3:47 PM

RACE TIMES - The final start times of each race will not be finalized until the final few days before the event.  The masters races will be moved around as necessary based on the number of college and elite meet entries and the TV broadcast schedule.  Updates will be emailed to entered athletes.

QUALIFYING TIMES AND HEATS - There are no specific qualifying times, although the tight meet schedule may force us to impose limits on the mile and 3,000m races.  For record attempts in older age groups, we will attempt to accommodate those as much as possible.  In the 100m and 400m races, the qualifying times are simply used to determine which heat runners will compete in.  There will be a maximum of 2 heats of the 100 and 400, with heats set based on a combination of age and time to provide the best competitive situation.  Men and women may run in the same race.  For the mile and 3,000m races, there will be a single race of each with everyone (men and women) racing together.

ENTRY - There is no charge to enter these events, but you must pre-enter.  There are a limited number of spaces available, and they will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis until the races are full.  The 100m and 400m races will be limited to a maximum 16 entries (2 heats).  Even if space is still available, entries will close 1 week before each event.  In addition to there being no entry fee, competing athletes will be admitted free of charge to the meet.  However all spectators will need to buy a ticket. MASTERS TRACK SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP - If you compete in the Pepsi Invitational, Oregon Twilight, and the Hayward Classic (www.HaywardClassic.org) you wil be eligible for the OTC Masters Track Series Championship.  Your best single event from the Hayward Classic will be age graded and added added to your age graded results from the Pepsi and Twilight meets.  The best total score from the three meets will win the overall championship and a custom plaque.  Note that the Hayward Classic requires a separate, paid entry, and entry forms must be mailed in a received by April 11th.  Full information at www.HaywardClassic.org
